WEDNESDAY - SEPTEMBER 8
Gronk views life as theater. He seeks out the “divine in the daily,” believing that great things can come from limited materials like paint, canvas, cardboard, and wood.
Gronk’s larger painting in the exhibition, Conquest, adds a new material: pulverized clay spread on top of the surface before painting. Both Conquest and his other series, Faces, highlight his love for the color red, which stem from his love for red lipstick.
